The multiplex is located in the busiest quarter of the second largest city of Estonia, Tartu, with 100,000 inhabitants. Cinamon has 700 seat capacity and according to the operator, boasts the most up-to-date equipment in the Baltics, including rocking chairs.
The Cinamon chain aims to boost competition in Estonia's cinema market where the Finnish-owned Forum Cinemas has held a steady 90-95% of the market for the last 5 years.
Mr. Peeter Rebane, the head of Cinamon, expects the new cinema to attract 80-90% of the market in Tartu and pave way for a planned 7-hall multiplex to be opened in the centre of the capital city of Tallinn in the autumn of 2009.
Cinamon also operates two multiplexes in the Lithuanian cities of Kaunas, with 5 screens, and Klaipeda, with 6 screens.
