The Estonian production The Temptation of St Tony won the FIPRECSI award for best film as well as two of the main prizes in the Baltic Feature Film Competition. The film is an Estonian, Swedish, Finnish coproduction which has enjoyed substantial international art house sales this year. It is currently being released theatrically in seven cities across the USA.
Another coproduction to score was The Poll Diaries that won the best director prize for Chris Kraus. The film which was shot mostly in Estonia is an Austrian, Estonian, German coproduction.
Industry screenings were organized with the Baltic Event from 1-3 December and included the Black Market film screenings of new productions from neighbouring countries and the Baltic Screenings of films form Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The Black Nights and Baltic Event have become the main venue in the region for industry professionals who attend the annual co-production market.
