{mosimage}TIBLISI: The Georgian National Film Center (www.gnfc.ge) announced 400,000 euros in financing for three full-length feature films in 2012.

    The films are:

    1. Corn Island (Producer "Alamdari" Ltd., Nino Devdariani; director Giorgi Ovashvili) will receive 450,000 GEL (200,000 Euros). The action takes place on the Enguri river, a borderline between the Russian-occupied Abkhazia and the rest of Georgia. The island is one of the main characters of the film, alongside with an Abkhazian old man and his 16-year-old granddaughter, who work hard to grow good crops of corn on their small but fruitful piece of land.

    2. Bald Boys (Producer "Kino Iberika" Ltd.; director Levan Koghuashvili) will receive 300,000 GEL (133,000 Euros). Two 40-year-old Georgian bald "boys" each seek the main love of his life.

    3. Brides (Producer "Gemini" Ltd.; director Tinatin Kajrishvili) will receive 150,000 GEL (66,000 Euros). This film about the love between a prisoner and his wife is not a reflection of prison-life. The prison is seen through the eyes of the prisoner's wife; hence, the audience visits only those places that visitors can penetrate.
