He played in more than 50 films, including Leo Esakia’s historical film Bashi-Achuki (1956, produced by Qartuli Pilmi, today Georgian Film Studios), Mikhail Karzhukov’s SF Mechte navstrechu/A Dream Come True (1963), Aleksandr Askoldov’s war drama Komissar/ The Commissar (1967), awarded at the Berlin Film Festival and Eldar Shengelaya’s Tsisferi mtebi anu daujerebeli ambavi/ Blue Mountains, or Unbelievable Story (1983, Qartuli Pilmi).

As a director, Otar Koberidze made 10 films and wrote screenplays for two of them. Among the films he directed are Elodet Mokavshires (1979, Qartuli Pilmi), Vin aris meotkhe?/Who Is the Fourth? (1985, Qartuli Pilmi) and Sabedistsero gasrola (1990, Studio Iberia Filmi). Otar Koberidze was awarded People’s Artist in Georgia in 1967. He was married to actress Lia Eliava.
