Ádám Császi's first feature is a lyrical yet realistic drama of a love triangle set in an ancient land. The film is produced by Viktória Petrányi and Eszter Gyárfás through the Hungarian company Proton Cinema (www.protoncinema.hu) in coproduction with the German Unafilm (www.unafilm.de). The total budget is 420,000 Euro (120 M HUF). Marcell Rév is the DOP.
Ádám Császi short films 7 Days and Weak Days were awarded Special Prize at 2004 Hungarian Film Week, respectively Best Short at 2008 Hungarian Film Week.
The Hungarian National Film Fund (www.filmalap.hu) also gave an additional support of 190,000 Euro/ 55 M HUF to Liza, the Fox-Fairy/ Liza, a rókatündér, the debut feature of Karoly Ujj Meszaros in shooting since 2 July 2012. The project received a production grant of 522,974 Euro/150 M HUF in January 2012.
It was also decided that the documentary Stream of Love by Ágnes Sós should receive a production grant of 67,600 Euro/19.5 M HUF. The Fund decided to support it in June but set the amount of grant on July 12.
Three projects received script development grants. János Xantus's Pedalománia, produced by Gábor Garami through Cinema-Film (www.cinemafilm.hu), received 9,300 Euro/ 2.7 M HUF, Érintetlenek (no director yet), produced by Pál Sándor through Film Street, received 10,400 Euro/3 M HUF, and Attila Vidnyánszky's Very Merry / Úri muri produced by László Kántor through Matrix Film, received 6,900 Euro/ 2 M HUF.
