The director is working on final dubbing and on the music with the English composer Patrick Hawes.
Prima Primavera is the feature debut of Edelenyi, a successful TV-feature and documentaries director in Hungary and abroad.
The budget of the film is approximately 1.1 million Euros, including 270,000 Euros comes from the Motion Picture Public Foundation of Hungary (www.mmka.hu), and 100,000 Euros from the Hungarian commercial TV channel TV2 (www.tv2.hu). Hungary's largest state gambling service company the Szerencsejatek Zrt. (www.szerencsejatek.hu) is also sponsoring the film. The British producer is Steve Bowden and Vita Nova Films (www.vitanovafilms.com). The Hungarian producer is Peter Miskolczi the head of Eurofilm (www.eurofilm.hu). The Bulgarian production company is Geopoly Film (Pavlina Jeleva and Georgi Cholakov). Dutch Riba Films International (www.ribafilm.nl) is a production partner with producer Arry Voorsmit.
Shooting took place in Hungary last September lasted 22 days and 2 more shooting days were added in June. The international cast includes the first Bulgarian Berlinale Shooting Star Vesela Kazakova, Hungarian Andor Lukats, Dutch Antonie Kamerling, and Serbian-Bulgarian Djoko Rosic.
The story is about a retarded 55 year old man who loses his mother, his only support and care, in a bank robbery. Later he is joined on the run by a Gypsy girl with a questionable past.
The world sales company of the film is the Austrian EastWest Film Distribution Company (www.eastwest-distribution.com). Plans are underway to release the film in England, Holland, and Bulgaria. The world premier of Prima Primavera is scheduled to take place in Hungary in November.
