A neglected elderly actor, once made famous by a Poirot-like role, starts investigating on his own within the walls of a remote actors' home. As he systematically interrogates suspects one by one, he realises that finding the culprit among so many excellent actors will be a task worthy of a master detective, reads a press release issued by the National Film Institute – Hungary.
The film stars András Kern and the cast includes revered and young actors, including Judit Pogány, Róbert Koltai, Gyula Bodrogi, Tamás Jordán, Ildikó Hámori, Mariann Hermányi, Angéla Stefanovics and Gergely Bánki, among others.
"Despite being set in an actors' home and starring Hungarian acting legends, Tonight We Kill is very much a modern-day film. Its visuals, photography and humour reflect the freshness of today’s zeitgeist, and its crime genre is enjoying a renaissance", producer Tamás Lajos told FNE.
Lajos is producing through Hungarian Film Positive Productions with an estimated budget of 2.5 m EUR.
The shooting, which began in June, is scheduled to continue until the end of July 2023. The film is shot at the Brauch Castle in Ráckeresztúr.
InterCom, which was founded by producer Andrew G. Vajna in 1990, will release the film domestically.
