Film and high-end TV production spends hit record high in 2023 in Hungary. Continental Europe’s biggest production hub has reached USD 910 million direct film production spend, a massive fourfold increase in volume in the last 5 years. Industry insiders will discuss 20-year tax incentive, soundstage and workforce capacity and expanding added values by Hungarian creatives.

Csaba KAEL,Government Commissioner for the Development of the Hungarian Film Industry since 2019 and Chairman of the National Film Institute has over 30-year industry experience as director of various audiovisual works. Since 2011 he is the CEO of Hungary's internationally acclaimed cultural institution, Müpa Budapest where he launched event series Bartók Spring Int’l Arts Weeks and Liszt Fest Int’l Cultural Festival.
Ildiko KEMENY is the CEO of Pioneer Pictures and Pioneer Stillking. Since its foundation in 1995, Pioneer has established itself as one of the most influential production companies in Hungary, working within the international market. Ildikó is producer of “Orphan”, written and directed by Laszlo Nemes, Oscar-winning director of “Son of Saul”. Her recent credits as co-producer include “Maria”(2024), “Lee” (2024), “Poor Things” (2023), “All The Light We Cannot See” (2023), “Dune: The Prophecy”, TV series (2023) & “The King” (2021). She is based in Budapest and London.
Mike GOODRIDGE is an international producer and executive producer whose new company Good Chaos was established in 2017. He recently produced Baltasar Kormakur’s “Touch” which opens through Focus/Universal this summer, and Sandhya Suri’s “Santosh” which is selected for Un Certain Regard at Cannes 2024. He produced Qiu Yang’s “Some Rain Must Fall” which won the special jury award in Berlinale Encounters this year, and Jessica Hausner’s “Club Zero” which played in competition at Cannes last year. This year he is producing László Nemes’ latest film “Orphan” set to shoot in Budapest in June and Edward Berger’s “The Ballad Of A Small Player” starring Colin Farrell which shoots in Macau and Hong Kong in the summer. He was co-producer on Ruben Ostlund’s Palme d’Or-winning “Triangle Of Sadness” and an executive producer on Jasmila Zbanic’s Oscar- and BAFTA-nominated “Quo Vadis, Aida?” and Jalmari Helander’s hit action movie “Sisu”.
Robert LANTOS is the founder and former Chairman and CEO of Canada's premier film and television company, Alliance Communications. After selling that company launched Serendipity Point Films. He has produced ten films in the Cannes Official Selection, including Grand Prix winner "The Sweet Hereafter” and Jury Prize winner “Crash”. His films "Barney’s Version" and "Remember," received audience awards at Venice, while "eXistenz" and "Museo" secured Silver Bears in Berlin. “Eastern Promises”, “Sunshine”, “Being Julia”, “The Sweet Hereafter” and “Barney’s Version”, earned multiple Oscar and Golden Globe nominations. His most recent production, "Crimes of the Future", premiered in the Cannes Competition while the limited series "Rise of the Raven” is now in post-production.
