FNE at Hungarian Film Week: Chirribirri (Csiribiri)

    Director JánosRózsa sculpts his film Chirribirri around what is a common experience for every Hungarian children: the songs of Judit Halász.

    The actress-singer has been singing for children for more than 30 years, and this film represents not only a simple concert of hers, but her way of approaching every child. Chirribirri is the first concert film about the forever young popular singer, who has appeared in many films of István Szabó (Szerelmesfilm, Álmodozások kora).

    The film was produced by Objektív Filmstúdió (www.objektivfilm.hu) with a budget of HUF 80 million. The MMKA (www.mmka.hu) gave a grant of HUF 30 million. The film also received support from EMI (www.emimusic.hu) and T-Home (www.t-home.hu). The film had an unsuccessful cinema distribution and vanished from the cinemas after only two weeks.
