The actress stars as a middle aged woman who is unable to cope with loneliness when her family life falls apart after she is abandoned by her Turkish husband. The film marks a stylistic shift for the director to a more personal type of filmmaking, producer László Kántor told FNE
The biographical story, written by Török and based upon his mother, is produced by Kántor's Uj Budapest Filmstudio (www.ujbudapestfilmstudio.hu). Coproduction partners are Kuzey Film (www.kuzeyfilm.com) of Turkey, Phanta Vision (Netherlands), and MindsMeet (Belgium). Hungary covers 60% of the 1.5 million euro budget, with 350,000 euros in financing from the Hungarian Motion Picture Foundation (MMK, mmka.hu) and 120,000 from the Ministry of Culture, 250,000 from the 1st Cultural Capital Committee, and 20% covered through Hungary's tax rebate system. Turkey funds 20% of the budget with the remaining 20% divided between Holland and Belgium.
The six week shoot takes place in Budapest and Istanbul. The film is planned for completion in late 2010 with a Turkish premiere at the end of the year.
