The 2010 edition, which took place in Budapest from June 23 to June 25, gathered international sellers of film, TV programmes, formats and thematic channels with Central and Eastern European audiovisual content buyers (www.DISCOP.com).
This year's event succeeded at bringing together 304 companies from 36 countries that participated as sellers with 406 companies from 31 countries that participated as buyers. TV stations and pay-TV platforms were most prevalent, represented by 265 companies. Additional representatives were from territorial agents, home-video distributors and alternative new-media platforms.
DISCOPRO training and pitching program attendance rose by 20 percent this year. Six short-listed producers pitched their projects to a panel of commissioning executives during the day-long event, resulting in two winners: Paradis Perdu (Lost Paradise) from France's Shooting Prod and The Institution from Hungary's Szupermodern Studio (www.szupermodern.hu).
