The project brings together emerging directors under one umbrella for finances and sales. Kenyeres won more than thirty awards for his Cannes-entry short film, Before Dawn.

Zentropa will furnish €500,000 toward a budget not exceeding €1.5 million with 'soft funding,' mainly presales for TV and grants from EU-schemes.The remaining €1 million is to be funded by the film's co-producer. Participating countries are Hungary, Holland, Ireland, Poland, France, the U.K., Germany, and Denmark. Zentropa's sales entity, Trust Film Sales (www.trust-film.dk) will handle worldwide rights and will sell the series as a package. All companies retain festival rights to their own films.

Currently in preproduction at Uj Budapest Filmstudio (www.ujbudapestfilmstudio.hu), Yesterday received a 2005 grant of €6,500 (HUF1.5 million) from Hungary's National Cultural Fund (NKA, www.nka.hu) to option film rights of the 1995 novel by Hungarian emigre, Agota Kristof.

Shooting is planned for autumn 2009.

Young Europeans has Zentropa's Ib Tardini, Slotmachine's Marianne Slot (www.slotmachine.fr), and Uj Budapest Filmstudio's Laszlo Kantor on board.
