Baltic Sea Docs project manager Zanda Dūdiņa told FNE that the Forum wants to create a meeting point for film producers and decision makers not only from the Baltic Sea region, but also from Eastern and Western Europe.
“Producers and decision makers first meet here and they will continue to meet at other forums and film markets all around Europe. Decision makers gave highly valuable advice on where to bring the projects next, for each film to find its unique audience”, Dūdiņa says. She added that many international distributors have been surprised by the high quality and wide range of film projects presented.
The Forum also held a presentation of When East Meets West, which will take place in Trieste, Italy, on 22-24 January 2017. Creative Europe MEDIA also held a workshop on distribution, production and innovation for documentaries in the digital age.
Baltic Sea Documentary Film Forum is organised by the National Film Centre of Latvia in cooperation with the Creative Europe MEDIA Programme and the European Documentary Network.
