The documentary was presented at the 20th Jihlava IDFF (www.dokument-festival.com) as part of the Doc Launch Presentation as well as at the Baltic Breakfast presentation. The producers were in Jihlava seeking presales. The films received a 10,000 euro grant from the Lithuanian Cultural Support Foundation.
The title character is a 71-year-old ex-convict who has 10 children - the youngest only a few months old - and 2 grandchildren, and plans on having another 9 children by his 93rd birthday. The observational style film looks at society's concept of "what the fight family is." While the children are aware of their father's past (he was known as "the Father of Mafia" in Lithuania), they form an exceptionally happy and loving family.
Sargyan's directing credits include four short films, including Lernavan which received seven awards at five festivals.
