Presenting a soldier's eye-view of the battle for Omaha Beach and beyond, Surviving D-Day blends compelling reconstruction and rare archive footage with magnetic interviews with those who were there.
Stunning graphics and 3-D technique portray the life-or-death reality of taking part in an operation that changed the course of history. In a forensic breakdown of the battle, Surviving D-Day reveals how an individual's chances of seeing another day depended on a bewildering array of factors.
This is not the first time the British film company Dangerous Films chose to work in Lithuania. The film 9/11: The Twin Towers about the tragic events of September 11, 2001 was filmed in Lithuania, as well as the feature film Moonshot. The film‘s creators chose the company Baltic Film Services for each venture.
Surviving D-Day is a Dangerous production for Discovery Channel (www.discovery.com) and France 2 (www.france2.fr) in association with Empire Media (www.empiremediaproductions.com).
The release of the movie is planned for the year 2011.
