Malta Finance Minister Tonio Fenech used a visit to Movie People Malta to boost the island nation's rapidly growing film industry.
Quoted in Malta Independent, Fenech said, "It is not only important to have a good location, but also to offer a high level of service, one which meets international standards."
Since it opened in December 2011, Movie People Malta has already worked on its first project, the Russian film Man from Caryota,
Along with camera and lighting equipment (among others), Movie People Malta (www.moviepeople.com.mt) has four stages, including the largest sound stage in Malta capable of housing a full orchestra.
Fenech stressed the country's tax incentive, which can be as high as 22%, but admitted that foreign filmmakers are looking for more training of local crew.
