HBO Entertainment series Game of Thrones, which began principal photography on July 26, is filming in Malta as its secondary location. The series is being locally produced with assistance from the Malta Film Commission (www.mfc.com.mt).
The first season will have a total of 10 episodes. The series has received funding from Northern Ireland Screen (www.northernirelandscreen.co.uk).
The cast includes Mark Addy, Harry Lloyd, Peter Dinklage, Leana Heady, and Roy Dotrice. The series is expect to air in 2011.
