Heaven follows the life of an unaccomplished drama writer who is accidentally taken to heaven, where he meets up with the icons of the art world including Jim Morrison, Marylin Monroe, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson. He tries to find himself in the celebrity company and struggles with the repercations of being included in that circle.
The film is a coproduction from Studio Filmowe Alternatyva and Studio Filmowe Exd'art-Obrazy bez granic ( www.exdart.com.pl) in cooperation with executive producer Bogusław Job. The producer told FNE that the film received financial support from Multimedia Polska (www.multimedia.pl) as part of the MultimediaOff Program supporting independent cinema.
The project was initially an independent comedy directed Paweł Sarbinowski and Piotr Żukowski, both connected to the off cinema movement in Poland and long-term co-workers of Piotr and Dominik Matwiejczyk, among the most recognized independent Polish film directors. For Heaven the filmmakers gathered a cast of popular Polish actors with Antoni Barłowski in the lead, along with Przemysław Bluszcz, Krzysztof Szekalski, Krzysztof Łapiński, Agata Stawarz and Adam Gruberski.
The producer told FNE that the shoot for Heaven will last till the end of October 2011 and the premiere is planned for the first quarter of 2012.
