Women's Day follows the life of Halina, a casher from a
supermarket chain, who dreams about making a better life for herself and her
13-year-old daughter. When she is unexpectedly
promoted to store manager, she quickly finds out
that the price for moving up in life is to take part in the exploitation
of her former colleagues. In addition she
gets involved with her married boss and loses track of her daughter,
who starts to fail at school and hangs out with the wrong crowd. When
one of her firends has a miscarriage due to work overload, Halina is
fired and decides to take her employer to court and gain back the trust
of the women working at the store.
In addition to directing, Sadowska is producer as well as
