PRODUCTION: Polish Six Degrees Moves Shoot to Mexico

    WARSAW: The Polish documentary Six Degrees which tests the theory that everyone in the world is connected by only six degrees of separation (six people), has reached Mexico in a journey that began in June 2011 in Poland. The film drew wide interest when it was pitched at Docu Talents from the East at the Karlovy Vary IFF (www.kviff.com ) in July.

    The film crew consisting of the director Bartosz Dombrowski, cinematographer Wojtek Zieliński and sound director Błażej Kafarski has set off for a journey to find the connection between person number 1, 26 year old Martyna Załoga who the lead singer of the Polish band Nancy Regan, and person 6, Marco Antonio a 46 year old Mexican male. Both were chosen randomly.

    After beginning the journey in Poland, the crew traveled to London and then to Miami. Currently the filmmakers are in Mexico, where they are shooting with the 4th person step of their journey.

    The documentary is produced by East Pictures (www.eastpictures.pl), which produced the box office Polish hit The Cake, and Otter Films (www.otterfilms.pl), headed by Anna Wydra, the Oscar nominated producer for the film Rabbit a la Berlin directed by Bartek Konopka. The official partner of the project is Nokia (www.nokia.pl). The film is supported by EBH (www.ebh.pl), Cafe Ole (www.cafeole.pl) and Oddweird Studio (www.oddweird.pl).     The production is planned to end by the end of 2011 with a premiere planned for 2012.
