Six Polish Films Compete at Karlovy Vary

    {mosimage}WARSAW: Poland will send nine films to the Karlovy Vary IFF (29 June-7 July 2012, www.kviff.com), including six films competing in three competition sections. Four of the films are coproductions made primarily with neighboring countries.

    {mosimage}Two films will screen in the main competition: Polski Film (www.negativ.cz), a Czech-Polish coproduction directed by Marek Najbrt; and To Kill a Beaver by Jan Jakub Kolski (www.spiintl.com). The East of the West competition will screen the Polish-Czech coproduction Yuma (www.evolutionfilms.cz) directed by Piotr Mularuk; and Shameless (www.akson-studio.pl) directed by Filip Marczewski. The documentary competition also includes two Polish films: Polish Illusions (www.pisf.pl), a Polish-German-Danish-French coproduction directed by Jacob Dammas and Helge Renner; and Kichot directed by Jagoda Szelc.

    In a Bedroom (www.iqart.pl) directed by Tomasz Wasilewski will be presented in the Forum of Independents section. Chicks are Just Different (www.sfkard.com) directed by Marek Koterski screens in Another View. A Slovak-Czech-Polish coproduction The Confidant (www.applefilm.pl) directed by Juraj Nvota will be shown in the section on new Czech Films.
