Up till the March switch digitally transmitted television was accessible to 4.5 million Polish users. After 19 March 2013 this number will increase by 5.7 million users and the analogue signal will be turned of in 346 districts including 121 located in the Mazowieckie Province.
Polish Ministry of Administration and Digitalization spent 31.5 million PLN to increase the digital signal in the regions that can be temporarily neglected during the change, without which over 650 000 viewers using the analogue signal would not have access to television. The change includes transmitters located in Elbląg, Rzeszów, Szczecin, Warsaw and Wisła. The switching of analogue stations and simultaneously switching on of the digital ones will take place between midnight and 5 am on 19 March 2013. The switch will be most noticeable to the users of individual antennas but subscribers but the Polish cable providers have take care of facilitating the change for their clients.
