The contract is a renewal of the agreement that has been in place since 2009. The full offer of films distributed by Kino Świat will be screened by the Canal+ channel and will be available through the Canal+ VOD
service. Some of the titles will also be presented by Ale kino+.
The contract allows Canal+ to show local premieres such us Baby Blues ( www.zentropa.dk, www.orange.pl) byKatarzyna Rosłaniec, Lasting by Jacek Borcuch (www.manana.pl), and
Women's Day by Maria Sadowska (www.studiomunka.pl,www.sfp.org.pl), as well as foreign productions such as Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine and major animated titles like Zamezbia.
Kino Świat entered the Polish market in 2001 and currently holds 19.6 % of the Polish distribution market. It is the leading company when it comes to introducing Polish titles in cinemas. "Not only contracts with big, Hollywood studios but co-operation with leading, independent Polish distributors such as Kino Świat is a way for us to build a rich and diverse film offer for our viewers," Jakub Szurmiej the Chief of Acquisitions at nc+ told FNE.
