The black-and-white Polish-Danish coproduction was picked up by Belgian distributor Cinéart. The picture will premiere on Belgium on 12 February 2014 and will be available in Brussels, Liège, Charleroi, Namur, Gand, Courtrai, Anvers, Burgia and Mons. The film already has a French distributor, Memento Films, which will release Ida in French cinemas on the same date. Memento Films also hold the rights for Francophone Africa and French territories while US and Canadian distribution is managed by Music Box.

"We are having a tremendous run with Ida. The film has sparked interest in over 30 countries including USA, Canada, France, Germany, Israel, Czech Republic and Denmark, to name a few," Ewa Puszczyńska of Opus Film told FNE. The film, starring Agata Kulesza and Agata Trzebuchowska is produced by Opus Film in coproduction with Canal+ Cyfrowy and Phoenix Film Investment.
