The first Polish production commissioned by AXN is a crime series based on the Morderm and Sandham format, a crime drama inspired by bestselling Swedish novelist Viveci Sten. The plot is centered on a family taking a holiday in the Pomeranian region and suddenly getting mixed up in a string of mysterious events following a murder. The Polish version of the show will be directed by Greg Zgliński, whose prominent work for television includes two critically acclaimed crime shows Pitbull (ATM Grupa) and Paradox (OpusFilm). The script is written by Igor Brejdygant, author of the Paradox screenplay.
"We have been considering the production of the first AXN series in Poland for quite some time. We want to create content that will stand among other programming and will be a separate, universal crime story that the Polish viewers will appreciate. Crime is a genre that is very popular in Poland and it always draws a lot of attention," said John Rossiter, the general manager at SPT Networks CE, the broadcaster of the AXN channel.
The shoot for the show will launch in June 2014 on the Hel Peninsula. AXN is now in casting for the leading roles in the show. The executive producer has not yet been announced.
WARSAW: AXN, the Sony Pictures Entertainment pay television, cable and satellite television channel, avaialble in Poland since 2010, will begin producing original Polish content.
