"We have been co-operating for a long time but this official agreement will allows us to activate new topics and fields of co-production" said Juliusz Braun the president of TVP.

The contract includes plans for major feature film coproductions, an exchange of production and organization of both entities, participation and organization help with festivals, markets and competitions that the other station is engaged in, exchange of news and cultural content and possibly joint training for their employees. The German broadcaster is also interested in documentaries produced by and for TVP as well as archive materials owned by the station.

Deutsche Welle is one of the ARD stations, a federation of 10 German public broadcasters financed from the federal budget. Its main mission is to prepare and broadcast materials especially created for screening abroad.
