The shoot in Poland for a new Bollywood project Shandaar launched on 15 November 2014 and will last till the end of the month. The crew of 120 filmmakers is currently working in Kozłówka, where the grand Zamoyski Palace is located. The historical building will play the setting of an elaborate, week-long wedding reception of the two richest families in India. The Polish executive producer for this project if Film Polska Productions, a company that has a lot of experience working with the Bollywood film industry. Most recently they co-produced a major Bollywood project entitled Kick that was partly shot in Warsaw.
Shandaar is directed by Vikas Bahl, who received the National Award of India for best film for his debut Chillar Party. The cast includes Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. "Shandaar will have classical Bollywood elements, filled with dancing, singing and color, but it will be a production for a more demanding viewer. It is a story about love and hard family relationships that has a chance to become another major Bollywood production made in Poland after Kick, said Maciej Żemojcin from Film Polska Productions. The budget of the film has not been announced.
The premiere of Shandaar is planned for 2015.
