THE DAYS RUN AWAY LIKE HORSES OVER THE HILLS/DNI UCIEKAJĄ JAK DZIKIE KONIE ZA WZGÓRZA Competition
Poland/Germany, 2015, 71’
THE DAYS RUN AWAY LIKE WILD HORSES OVER THE HILLS intimately explores ideas of female identity and womenhood. Set in Berlin, and in a small town in Poland, DAYS takes place in the closed space of private homes and the oddly contained worlds of public spaces; Filmed in both black-and-white and colour, DAYS features stark, candid performances from its cast, and slips between documentary and dream-like narrative. What is the connection between these women? Are they alternate realities of the same life? Are they converging memories of an entire lifetime? Under the winter sky, they wonder what they might become and what might have become of them. Timepasses ever slower.

THE PERFORMER/PERFORMER Competition
Poland, 2015, 63’
A dynamic and full of punk energy story based on life of one of the most original and interesting contemporary artist – the performer, Oskar Dawicki (playing himself). As in the other Dawicki's works - established norms of moral, spiritual and social order are challenged and put on trial. Combination of fiction and facts gives a surprising insight into the modern art world. “The Perfomer” presents a mix of the performance art with the art of acting, and combining documentary film-making with a fictional narrative: Oscar Dawicki's works are connected on the screen not only by time and space, but also by narrative, drama and emotion.

WARSAW 44/MIASTO 44
Poland, 2014, 130’
“Warsaw44” is a story of young Varsovians full of life and passion. They live their lives as if each day was to be their last. It’s not, however, due to their bravado or recklessness – this attitude is a natural thing considering the reality they face. We get to know the movie’s main characters (Stefan, Biedronka and Kama) shortly before the Uprising breaks out in summer 1944. Young Poles see their involvement in the underground movement not only as a patriotic duty, but also as an adventure, an opportunity to brag to their peers and impress girls. They witness sacrifice and heroism, but also cruelty, betrayal and murder. They learn about love and discover what hate feels like. History teaches them a bloody and brutal lesson in growing up.
