Carte Blanche is based on a true story of a high school teacher Maciej Białek, who hid the loss of his eyesight for over four years in fear of losing his job. The film was produced by Aurum Film in coproduction with Orange Polska and Lightcraft with the financial support of the Polish Film Institute and the Lublin Film Fund. Media Move is handling the sales.
The cast includes Arkadiusz Jakubik, Dorota Kolak, Urszula Grabowska, Wojciech Pszoniak, Maria Chwalibóg, Jerzy Rogalski, Ewa Bakalarska, Anna Nowak and Tomasz Ziętek. The film was released in Polish cinemas by Kino Świat on 23 January 2015 and had 289,966 admissions, becoming the 6th most popular Polish title of 2015.
