TVN Moves into VOD Production

WARSAW: The largest Polish private broadcaster TVN is investing in producing local films and shows made for VOD. A newly created production unit TVN Emotion Studio will produce over 100 hours of material in 2016.

With the establishment of TVN Emotion Studio, TVN Group will produce more content for its VOD service Player.pl and create original video formats for the web and mobile applications that will be compatible with all social media platforms. The Studio will be headed by Radosław Kotapka, previous executive creative director at Young & Rubicam ad agency.

TVN Emotion Studio’s original content includes a documentary series about Polish soccer team Legia Warszawa that premiered on Player.pl on 16 April 2016. In the past, TVN commissioned films and shows for VOD from outside contractors. The hit web series Web Therapy was produced by FremantleMedia and the Polish version of Lip Sinc Battle was produced by Golden Media Polska.

"The creation of a creative-production studio is our answer to the growing need of our platform users for quality online video productions," said Christian Anting, TVN Digital and E-commerce Board Member.
