Signs is the story of a police officer setting out to solve the mysterious death of a young student, mirroring a crime from the past. In order to find out what happened he needs to break a wall of silence from the citizens of the small town that is the backdrop of the events. The cast of the series includes Andrzej Konopka, Helena Sujecka, Małgorzata Hajewska-Krzysztofik and Helena Englert.
The series, directed by Jakub Miszczak and Marcin Ziębiński, is produced by ATM Group for Sony Pictures Television Networks Central Europe. The script was written by Błażej Przygodzki, Paulina Murawska and Wojciech Miłoszewski. The shoot for the show launched in May 2018 in Góry Sowie. The budget has not been announced.
The show follows the successful Ultraviolet series, another local Polish production commissioned by Sony for AXN from Opus Film, that noted strong ratings and was recently purchased by Netflix.
"We are open to interesting projects and experiments. We want to test different genres and Signs, a crime mystery series, fits perfectly into our strategy. We are planning to invest in more original productions in the region, especially in Poland," John Rossiter, general manager at Sony Pictures Television Networks Central Europe, said in a statement.
