Velvet Spoon has been co-created by experienced film professionals Marcin Adamczak, Grzegorz Fortuna and Krystian Kujda in order to fill in the void on the Polish market for interesting and ambitious genre cinema.
"The basis for our catalogue will be genre cinema, which doesn't rule out the quality of the offer. We plan to release one film for 1.5-2 months and do everything that we can for it to reach the viewer. We want to create an original and unconventional campaign for each title, strictly connected with the subject of the style of the particular film." said Marcin Adamczak, co-creator of Velvet Spoon, Director of Cinemaforum Festival, film critic and author.
The company is starting off with the release of the Estonian/Dutch/Polish film November, a dark folklore fairy tale directed by Rainer Sarnet. The film was produced by Homeless Bob Production (Estonia) in coproduction PRPL (Netherlands) and Opus Film (Poland). The film will open in Polish cinemas on 2 November 2018, followed by a December release of the Polish/Austrian coproduction Animals directed by Greg Zgliński. The thriller with elements of dark humor was produced by Opus Film (Poland), Tellfilm (Austria) and Coop99 Filmproduktion (Austria).
