KOSZALIN: The 38th Mlodzi i Film Debut Film Festival in Koszalin ended on 15 June with My Polish Girl by Ewa Banaszkiewicz and Mateusz Dymek winning the Grand Prix, chosen out of 10 feature debuts and 65 short film debuts. The President of SFP Jacek Bromski received a medal of merit.

The head of the City Council in Koszalin, Jan Kuriata, and its chairwoman, Krystyna Kościńska, handed the medal to the President of SFP Jacek Bromski for his services to Koszalin. They emphasised his role in reviving the Młodzi i Film Debut Film festival in 1999.

“Reviving the festival after ten years was not a matter of its simple continuation. You are one of the creators of a Polish cinema that is young, strong and - what is important today - full of women. For us, you are the father of the contemporary image of the festival with a fixed brand. The festival that brings Warsaw closer to Koszalin. Your merit is the inclusion of Koszalin in the history of Polish film,” emphasised Krystyna Kościńska in her laudation.

“I am glad that together with the city authorities we decided to revive the festival, which is one of the most important in Poland and the most important for young people. I am proud that we have succeeded,” Jacek Bromski said, in accepting the medal.
