Howling Wolf Ranch was conceived after the success of national broadcaster PTV's series The Ranch. The story evolves around a small town of Wilkowyje ( Howling Wolf) where twin brothers hool the most prominent jobs in the local community- the town clerk and the priest. Against a background of comical episodes involving the habitants of Wilkowyje, a love story between a local failure Kusy and a charming American of Polish descent continues to unravel.
"The movie's main producer is Studio A (www.studio-a.tv) and the co-producers are PTV- Film Agency (www.tvp.pl) and The Documentary and Feature Films Studio (WFDiF, www.wfdif.com.pl). The national distribution is handled by Forum Film Poland (www.forumfilm.pl)," Marta Lipecka from Studio A told FNE. The producer would not reveal the total budget of the movie; however it received nearly 300,000 Euros financing from the Polish Film Institute (www.pisf.pl). The movie does not yet have an international distributor.
Howling Wolf Ranch was shot on location for one month in summer 2007. The Polish premiere of the movie took place on December 26, 2007.
