The siginificant development of Polish film production over the last two years is the result of increased funding from the Polish Film Institute (www.pisf.pl). Half of the new titles were financed or co-financed by PISF.
The titles represent a diverse mix of films, beginning with the long awaited comedy from Juliusz Machulski produced by Studio Filmowe Zebra, How Much Is The Weight Of The Troian Horse, on December 26. New Year's Eve toasts two premieres: Love On The Runway, a comedy, and The Lesser Evil, a psychological drama directed by Janusz Morgenstern.
January 30 sees the opening of A Perfect Guy For My New Girlfriend, the new movie from the makers of the Polish box office hit Ladies. It will be followed by the premiere of War Games, a documentary about colonel Ryszard Kuklinski directed by Dariusz Jablonski. February 13 brings Lords Of the Flies, a raunchy animated cinema version of a popular Polish TV cartoon. February 20 marks a double premiere of the historical drama Popieluszko, the case of a tragic murder of a priest, and the Polish-Czech comedy Trading Sexes. The month ends with Made in Poland, a new drama from Przemysław Wojcieszek, opening on February 28.
