First Polish Film Commission launches in Łódź

    The Association of Film Commissioners International (www.afci.org) has established its first unit in Poland, based in Łódź, to assist local and international filmmakers and encourage them to work in the region.

    The Łódź Film Commission began operating on April 16 at the Cinematography Museum in Łódź. The ŁFC (www.lodzfilmcommission.com) will provide services for filmmakers include assistance in finding film locations, providing information about film, television and multimedia production specialists in the city and region, as well as information about city resources and production facilities. The ŁFC can also assist in obtaining permissions and negotiating with the property owners. One of the most important goals of the new project is to promote Łódź as a destination for audiovisual productions.

    The Commission provides an extensive online database of shooting locations in the city and region, with pictures and contact information. The website also includes a database of Polish companies specializing in all production oriented services.The official partners of the project are The Polish National Film, Television and Theater School in Łódź, Regional Tourist Organization of the Łódź Province, Media Klaster and the Marshal's Office of the province.
