The movie is produced by Akson Studio (www.aksonstudio.pl), a company which recently produced Andrzej Wajda's newest film Tatarak. Since Venice had just entered pre-production stage, the full list of other investors is yet finalized.
"The shoot will start in September, 2009. Currently, castings are being held in order to find a 12-year-old boy to play the main part of Marek," Jolanta Trykacz, producer from Akson Studio, told FNE.
The budget of the production is 7.5 million PLN (1.7 million Euro), with 3 million PLN already committed for funding by the Polish Film Institute (www.pisf.pl).
The movie is based on a series of short novels, written by Włodzimierz Odojewski. Kolski's success with previous works such as Pornography and Jasminun are creating an aura of anticipation for his newest production.
