Awarded annually by the Polish Film Academy, the Eagles have been the most prominent film prizes in Poland since 1999.
The Polish Film Academy (www.pnf.pl) with over 500 member and is headed by Polish director Agnieszka Holland.
The Polish Eagles are awarded in 16 categories: The Best Film, Best Leading Male Performance, Best Leading FemalePerformance, Best Direction, Best Script, Lifetime Achievement Award, Best Supporting Male Performance, Best Supporting Female Performance, Best Photos, Best Set Design, Best Music, Best Costumes, Best Montage, Best Sound, Best European Film and the Discovery of the Year Award introduced in 2009.
The awards will be broadcast by public channel TVP 2 (www.tvp.pl). The Lifetime Achievement Award winner will be announced during a special press conference on February 24.
The Polish Film Awards are under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. The official partner of the Polish Eagles is PricewaterhouseCoopers.
