The festival features three additional master classes, with Alan Berliner, Martin Strange-Hansen, and Nicholas Philibert.
The festival opens with The Cove, recent winner of the Oscar for Best Documentary.
This year sees the addition of a new competition section for best animation, following the successful presentation of Animadoc at the 2009 festival. Altogether, over 100 films will be screened in 11 sections. The main competition features 22 films vying for a top prize of 8,000 Euros. The main jury is chaired by Iranian-born Austrian filmmaker Arash T. Riahi. Another 17 films compete in the under-70 minute competition.
