The US premiere of Time to Die took place at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in California on Jan. 4 where it was presented in the "World Cinema Now" section to a sold-out crowd. The two creators met with American viewers during the festival. After that the film was screened in Santa Barbara, then crossed the Atlantic for its European premiere in Trieste last week where it was singled out for special distinction by the jury and the audience.
The film tells a story of an elderly lady, owner of a once glamorous but decaying villa, where she has been forced by the state to keep tenants. Finally, after decades, she rids herself of the last tenant and is mistress of the mansion. But the long-awaited moment turns into disappointment: her son wants nothing to do with the house and even secretly attempts to sell it. This prompts the heroine to once more - perhaps for the last time - take matters into her own hands.
Time to Die is produced by Kid Film (www.kidfilm.pl) and co-produced by Polish Television-Film Agency. The Polish Film Institute (www.pisf.pl) subsidized the film's production and international promotion.
