{mosimage}WARSAW, BUCHAREST: New films from Anna Kazejak, Kasia Adamik and Tudor Giurgiu are looking for co-producers and sales agents at the Berlinale coproduction market.

The films already have some of their budgets secured.

{mosimage}Anna Kazejak's The Word is inspired by the true story of " a girl who commits a crime in order to reunite her divorced parents and gain their affection." Lukasz Dzieciol who is producing together with Opus Film (www.opusfilm.com) told FNE, „We are looking for co-production partners, preferably from Europe, and also for possible pre-sales. Given the universal story content, we are planning to get international cast for the project, and in terms of the co-production structure we are pretty open to discuss different possibilities with potential partners." The film is set to be shot in 2014. From a budget of 1,200,000 euros, around 40% is secured.

The Pope's Toilet (director: Kasia Adamik), also produced by Opus Film (Poland) together with Flying Moon Filmproduktion (Germany), is set to be shot in summer 2013. The project has received a grant from the German-Polish development fund, and 30% of the budget is already in place.

{mosimage}Tudor Giurgiu's Christian is inspired by the life and mysterious death of a Romanian prosecutor who commited suicide at age 29 while working on a complicated corruption file in 2002. Giurgiu is producing together with his company Libra Film Productions (www.librafilm.net).

{mosimage}"We still hope to find a possible third co-producer. The most natural would be a co-producer from Hungary or the Czech Republic as our project deals with communism and Catholicism. We are also hoping to attach sales, distributors and TV partners," producer Ewa Puszczyńska told FNE. When asked about the particularities of this film shot in Poland in Polish and with Polish actors she says that "truly thrilling is the fact that we are going to create our own absurd world but still strongly rooted in the reality of 80s."

"I want to find at least one co-producer, and also a world sales agent," Tudor Giurgiu told FNE, noting the difficult situation for funding in Romania.

He thinks the film might be interesting for potential partners. "The story is quite real - a Polish prosecutor attempted to commit suicide recently. The interference between the politics and the justice, the attempts to poison journalists and dissidents are not just topics of a trend but part of an Eastern reality, which is tough and also true," says Giurgiu.

The budget of the film is around 1 million euros. The project is supported by the Romanian CNC and the MEDIA Programme (http://ec.europa.eu/culture/media/index_en.htm). Shooting is planned for the fall 2012.
