Stars of the films and filmmakers will be present to promote the films and there will also be panels for the public on filmmaking in Europe.
The respective sales agents will also come to Moscow with the help of Film Sales Support (FSS) to market the films to distributors and buyers. Westwind is financially supported by the MEDIA Programme of the European Union and the participating EFP member organizations including the Polish Film Institute.
The Showcase opens on Wednesday evening, 23rd October, with the French film, Just a Sigh by Jérôme Bonnell, followed by Jesús Monllaó’s thriller, Son of Cain (Spain). Further screenings in the following days include Gustav Deutsch’s documentary, Harry Dean Stanton (Austria) and strong feature films, such as Brendan Muldowney’s tragicomedy, Love Eternal (Ireland), Vincent Lannoo’s sarcastical thriller In the Name of the Son (Belgium) or Diderik Ebbinge’s Matterhorn (Netherlands).
