    TRIESTE: The winners of the 6th edition of the coproduction forum When East Meets West were announced on 26 January 2016. WEMW ran from 24 to 26 January 2016 alongside the Trieste Film Festival, 22-30 January 2016.

    A total of 22 projects from 19 countries were pitched, among them 12 were feature films and 10 documentaries. Click HERE to see the full list of the projects.

    when east meets west 2016This year WEMW dedicated a special focus to Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries in Europe and Latin America.

    Two new initiatives were launched during the last edition of WEMW dedicated to films in the postproduction stage, Last Stop Trieste (LST), a work-in-progress section for creative documentaries organized in collaboration with Trieste Film Festival, and First Cut Lab (FCL), a programme designed for long feature fiction films in the editing phase.

    WEMW is organized by Friuli Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund together with the Trieste Film Festival, in collaboration with EAVE, Maia workshops, Creative Europe Desk Italy MEDIA, Eurimages and with the support of Creative Europe - MEDIA Programme, Direzione Generale per il Cinema – MiBACT, CEI (Central European Initiative), Confartigianato Udine and the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
