Central European co-productions receive Finnish funding

    Co-productions from Estonia, Poland, and Bulgaria have received grants totaling €270,000 Euros from the Finnish Film Foundation.

    Rules of Single Life, a €330,000 documentary about four Bulgarian emigrants on the search for girlfriends in Finland, receives €120,000. The romantic documentary, directed by a starring Tonislav Hristov, completes a 12-month shoot in September 2009 and is scheduled to air in September 2010. The is co-produced by Bulgarian National TV (bnt.bg), YLE TV1 (yle.fi ), and NRK Norge (www.nrk.no), and distributed in Finland by Sandrew Metronome Distribution Finland.     Letters to Ingela, a €1.15 million co-production from Estonia, Finland and the Netherlands, receives a grant of €90,000. The feature film about an Estonian who returns home after spending 15 years living as a Muslim in the Soviet Union, shoots in 2009 for a 2010 release.     Father, Son and Holy Cow, a €1.14 million feature receives a grant of €60,000. The film about a widower who thinks his wife has returned as a cow will film in June and July, with release to be announced.
