Sex in the City

By Katarzyna Grynienko

Warsaw (CentEast Daily News) -- The success of the Polish comedy Testosteron-it sold 1.4 million tickets last year, and went on to win the Amber Lion at Gdynia-has encouraged director Tomasz Konecki and producer Andrzej Saramowicz to further explore the subject of male-female relations in contemporary Poland.

At the CentEast Market they will show a 10-minute excerpt of Ladies (Lejdis), which is currently in post-production. Domestic launch by the ITI Center distributor is scheduled for Feb. 1, 2008.

Already labeled the female Testosteron, Ladies is the story of four ordinary women in their 30s, celebrating their own New Year's Eve in the middle of the summer, and talking about their plans for the time to come.

Saramowicz and Van Worden Productions have targeted the film at international audiences, and here they will try to find out from foreign distributors whether "Sex in the City - Polish Style" could work in neighbouring markets.
