During the festival, the participants from Central and Eastern Europe will meet their heads of studies (award-winning screenwriter Tom Abrams and film consultant Christian Routh) to discuss the progress of their work. They will also meet with pitching specialists for tips on how to promote their scripts and will be introduced to representatives of the international film industry. At Cannes, the contestants will hold a final, seven-day session before the winner is chosen.
The 12 scriptwriters delivered new versions of their scripts in January after a three-month rewriting process during which they worked with film professionals acting as advisors (Jonathan English, Paul Fraser, Monte Hellman, Cedomir Kolar, Marek Rozenbaum, Ula Stockl and Peter Webber).
