CineLink awards seven CEE films

    Sarajevo CineLink co-production market (www.sff.ba) gave its Excellence Award to Serbian Circles by writers Srđan Koliević and Melina Pota Koliević and director Srdan Golubović.

    The €1.7M film is handled by the Belgrade company Baş Čelik (www.bascelik.net) and Germany's Neue Mediopolis Filmproduction (www.neue-mediopolis.de). Both companies just completed The Woman with the Broken Nose by Srđan Koliević, selected by the KVIFF 2010 East of the West competition (www.kviff.com). Circles was at the Cannes L'Atelier (www.festival-cannes.com) where it won the International Relations Arte Prize.

    The Living Pictures Service Award of €10.000 (www.l.p.co.rs) went to Necromancer by Arpad Bogdan, a Hungarian Roma writer and director. The film is produced by Budapest Laokoon Filmgroup (www.laokoonfilm.com) with a budget of €1.3 M.

    The €6,000 International Relations Arte Price (www.arte.tv) went to Our Everyday Life by writer and director Ines Tanović with producer Dokument Sarajevo and a budget of €850,000.

    The €10,000 CNC Award (www.cnc.fr) went to the Hungarian €2M Hier by writer and director Bálint Kenyeres and produced by Cameofilm.

    The €30,000 Eurimages Award (www.coe.int) was given to the Romanian €950,000 Wolf by writer and director Bogdan Mustata and Bucarest Strada Film.

    The Restart (www.restart.si) €20,000 inkind support award went to The Slut by writer and director Hagar Ben Sher from Israel. Producer Transfax is actually working on the postproduction of the €765,000 film.

    The €80,000 Post Republic (www.post-republic.com) inkind award went to the Turkish/Kurdish/Bosnian 4K digital format Broken Mussels by director Seyfetin Tokmak. The Istanbul based +90 Film company (www.plus90film.com) is handling the €108,500 budget of the film.

    The Serbian producer Snežana Penev from Papa Films was chosen for the EAVE scholarship.
