The prize is being awarded on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and will be followed by a special screening of the film at the Sala Pasinetti at 17:00 today.
The film is an intense family drama set in Sofia that tells the stories of the lives of four women over four decades of their struggles during a period which transformed Bulgaria from the 1960's until the present day. It was shot in Bulgaria and was backed by the Bulgarian National Film School, the Italian Ministry of Culture and RAI Television.

FNE at Venice IFF 2010: Human Rights Prize for Bulgarian-Italian coproduction Goodbye Mama
