The feature is to be produced by Robert Budina and Erafilm Productions (www.erafilm-albania.com) together with the France's Arizona Film (www.arizonafilms.net), the Greek company Inkas Film Production (www.inkasfilms.com) and Romania's Elefant Film.
The script, written by Budina, follows two brothers, Saimir and Vini, who emigrate from Albania to Greece and trying to make the best of their lives. Saimir plans to marry Elektra, a young Greek girl, and tries to find a job for his brother. Vini does not like Elektra's father, who tries to control his life and Elektra's.
Dan Burlac, the Romanian co-producer, told FNE that 60% of the one million euro budget are already covered. The project is applying for a grant from Eurimages (www.coe.int/t/dg4/eurimages) and also for a production grant from the Romanian National Centre for Cinema. (www.cncinema.abt.ro).
Romanian cinematographer Marius Panduru is the DOP. Shooting will cover last six weeks in Thessaloniki, starting October 2011. The premiere is set for 2012.
