"We are confident that The Last Corrupted Man in Romania will keep pace with the Romanian productions that MediaPro Pictures released successfully in the last two years," Raluca Moroianu, Marketing Manager at MediaPro Distribution told FNE.
A sequel to Poker, a social satire which was second in the local results with admissions of almost 25,000 in 2010, The Last Corrupted Man in Romania is a comedy blending the same corrupted politicians, plastic surgeons, local gangsters as in Poker. However, the 81 year old director says that his film is a realistic one. "The Last Corrupted Man in Romania is very real. It has a comic touch but still, it is also critical," Nicolaescu said.
Shooting began on 23 August 2011 and wrapped in just 26 days, with a quick post-production period. The film used same team as Poker, including screenwriter Adrian Lustig, DOP Viorel Sergovici and actors Horaţiu Mălăele, Vladimir Găitan, Valentin Teodosiu, Ion Riţiu, and Cătălina Grama (Jojo).
